Mobile gambling boosts used phones market
Just as avid gamers nowadays are keen to furnish their homes with the latest in computer hardware, enormous monitors, deluxe chairs and all sorts of other gadgetry needed to get the most out of their zombie-shooting experience, those who enjoy mobile gambling while out and about are trading in their phones for more up-to-date models.
This is because mobile gambling operators are falling over themselves to stay ahead of the opposition, coming up with software and services specific to the mobile market that make this gambling medium increasingly attractive and, in turn, convincing people to upgrade to devices capable of handling the latest developments - why, for instance, settle for placing a bet on an event and then having to search for somewhere to watch it if there's an app to follow the action as it unfolds on your phone?
Sports betting is currently the most popular form of remote gambling according to Andrew Pegler, Mfuse Business Development Director, who cited first the introduction of the iPhone in Europe in 2008/2009 and then the 2024 World Cup in South Africa as key events that contributed to the rise of smartphones and the explosion of mobile gambling.
Then, as technological advances helped feed the demand by making the whole remote gambling experience more than just the facility to place bets, with online casinos further adding to the excitement, consumers reacted by investing in the latest models. One such, Apple's recently released iPhone 4S, sold four million worldwide during its first weekend on the market, although the trend is set to continue as we learn of each new user-friendly app.
