Mobile Gambling Latest Part 2
Microgaming, the online gambling software and games giant, has launched a new mobile casino product - the snazzy named Android Air.
An Adobe Air-based application, it is available for use with tablets and smartphones that run on Android, and features a starting package of eight casino games, with a view to rolling out 20 or so more before the end of the year.
The beauty of this app is that it allows developers to use web development tools to build applications for tablets and smartphones powered by Android and thus make mobile casino games accessible automatically, enabling players to choose updates via WiFi rather than 3G. This, together with convenient registration and easy-to-use lobby and banking options makes the whole mobile gambling experience that much more user-friendly.
Microgaming's Neill Whyte said that 'Mobile has been a key part of Microgaming’s strategy for the past few years...' and continued 'The explosion of mobile gaming over the last 12 months, driven largely by the increased adoption of smartphones in developing countries, represents a huge opportunity for providers.'
And the good news for us is that Microgaming and other providers deliver the fruits of their latest efforts in the shape of great new, increasingly attractive games.
Meanwhile, with so-called 'reality' television makers so keen to guarantee that mobile technology provides us with a constant link to the latest news of their shows, if you're thinking of having a bet on X-Factor or the upcoming 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!' it's nice to know that the odds compilers are no wiser than we are when it comes to who will do well or otherwise. Remember that anything can happen, so don't go overboard, but a general tip that has proved true over the years is that initial outsiders offer great value because - if they survive the early stages - they tend to experience surges in popularity.
